How does AI Conversion Detective work?
After installing, the app reads your store's product pages, theme, recent orders, and traffic data through the Shopify API. Claude AI (by Anthropic) analyses this data and produces a prioritised list of conversion issues — each with an estimated revenue impact in dollars. You can then ask follow-up questions through the built-in AI chat to get step-by-step fix instructions.
How much can I expect my conversion rate to improve?
Results vary by store, but the app typically finds 6–10 conversion issues per scan. Fixing even one critical issue — like surprise shipping costs at checkout or missing product descriptions — can meaningfully move your conversion rate. The revenue impact estimates shown per issue are directional guides based on your actual order data and industry benchmarks, not guarantees.
How is this different from Google Analytics?
Google Analytics tells you what is happening (bounce rate, exit pages, traffic sources). AI Conversion Detective tells you why it is happening and how to fix it. It analyses your actual store data — products, theme code, order patterns — and gives you specific, prioritised action items with estimated dollar impact.
Can the AI help me implement the fixes?
Yes. Each issue comes with a step-by-step fix guide, and you can ask the AI chat for more detail. For example, you can ask "walk me through adding trust badges to my product page" or "write a product description for my best-selling item" and get instructions tailored to your store and theme.
How often does the app scan my store?
You can trigger a new scan at any time from the dashboard. The app also automatically re-scans your store when significant changes are detected (such as a theme publish or product updates) so your recommendations stay current.
Why does the app need access to order data?
Order data is used to calculate the revenue impact of each conversion issue. For example, if your checkout has a usability problem, the app estimates how much revenue you may be losing based on your average order value and conversion rate. No individual order details are stored — only aggregated statistics used for analysis.
Why does the app need access to themes?
Theme files are analysed to detect design and UX issues that affect conversion — such as missing trust signals, poor mobile layout, or slow-loading assets. Theme data is sent to Claude AI for analysis and is not stored permanently.
Is my store data sent to a third party?
Store data is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate the analysis — this is the core function of the app. Anthropic processes data according to their API usage policy and does not use API data to train AI models. What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?
All store data — including scan results, chat history, and session information — is permanently deleted within 48 hours of uninstalling. This is handled automatically via Shopify's mandatory shop/redact webhook. You do not need to take any manual action.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Paid plans (Starter at $19/month and Pro at $39/month) both include a 7-day free trial with full Pro access. You will not be charged until the trial period ends, and you can cancel before then at no cost.
How does billing work?
Billing is handled entirely by Shopify. You are charged monthly through your Shopify account — we never handle your payment details directly. You can view, upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from within the app or from Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel at any time from Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps → AI Conversion Detective → Cancel subscription. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. There are no cancellation fees.
Is the app compatible with all Shopify plans?
Yes. AI Conversion Detective works with all Shopify plans, including Basic, Shopify, Advanced, and Shopify Plus.
